Established in 1993 by Hugh & Anne McWilliams, H&A have grown from a payroll of 6 people to an employee base of over 200 people. In the early days of the business our core discipline was mechanical services. New gas combi boiler and heating system installed. Team arrived on time, everyone had their job to do. Works completed in 1 day. Very impressed with the work and must pay a special mention to Johnny McWhinney, Gareth, Doogie, Benny Quinn and Tamra who were all amazing. Later had a slight a drip from radiator and they fixed it the very same day it was reported.

Provided a heat relocation service on behalf of NIHE, poor standards of care left screws sticking out of wood which resulted in 2 year old child being injured. Made aware and not even an apology. Poor standards of workmanship poor quality of repairs. On 01.03.22 I had a total loss of service, contacted landlord who sent H and A, when they called to confirm a time for visit the person who spoke with me said she was a manager, refused to say who the engineer was and said my landlord called me rude. Spoke with landlord and promised H and A would call by 5pm today. Its not 6.55 and still no contact. Complaint filed

Would not recommend them, they installed my gas 11 years ago and since then I've had nothing but trouble with it, every year I've had to call an engineer out sometimes twice a year costing me 100s of pounds had them out at the beginning of this year and it's broke again.il not be getting them again now I have to call another gas engineer out and and that's going to cost me more Money.

I wasn't going to bother writing a review until a friend had a similar experience. H&A at more than one occasion tried to take the easy/lazy option for my gas installation. 1 - They didn't want to box in a large section of the gas mains on my exterior and suggested I get up a ladder and paint the pipe. They reluctantly agreed to box it in after I told them that was what I was promised when the job was priced. 2 - They didn't want to connect the gas hob properly and instead tried to run a gas pipe through my kitchen units.
When the next engineer called out that was due to do the final connection he couldn't believe that they had tried to do it this way and had to call out a 3rd engineer to undo all the work so it could be fitted properly. 3 - When fitting the shower they basically put a copper pipe at a level in the roof space that made the entire half of my roof space unusable.
It would have taken no time at all to lay it properly. (this was fixed after I complained). 4 - They did the same with the other side of the roof space with another pipe, this time they added a makeshift support but if I was to put any weight put on it there would be a bust water pipe in no time. I can get over this one but its shoddy workmanship at best. 5 - Within days we discovered a leak.
It was repaired twice before they sent someone to replace a pipe that should have been replaced in the 1st place. 6 - My installation was on a Friday and supposed to be a 1 day job, however within 20 minutes of them being there I was told it would be longer (I didn't mind) however I got the feeling this was a Friday job and everyone was rushing to get home.
They come across as a professional outfit but as long as the job is complete I don't think they care how its done. I wouldn't recommend H&A and would suggest going with a smaller installer that would show some care in the work that they are doing.

My heating was serviced and left working perfectly.. A few hours later that nite my heating didn,t come on...felt my radiators they were freezing and the water did n't heat up either .So I had to call up H&A Mechanical services next morning to come and check the problem...It was very disappointing.. I don't remember if the guy told me what the problem was or not....thank you...

The worst experience ever. - customer service on phone was joke, called there everyday chasing the woman for my area, then plenty promises and lies on phone (hi Tanya) - half job done, they promised to change all valves on each radiator, they left me 2 olds. one radiator which has been working before stopped heats up after instalation, then it was hard to make call and get repair service.
First visit they only came and put extra valve for releasing air, they left and never even tried if its working, has not been working, so another call and another repair. then one good guy came to fix it, thanks god, he is the one star. - after instalation they left big leak on carpet in living room, I must took off carpet and use electric heater for several hours. - promised no deposit needed, then they say I need to pey 220 after instal. - they dont want to take away old oil barrel from my garden, i must chase them. then must chase them for remove pillars as well as it needed another team. took it so long to chase them again. they obviously left bit of pillars coming from ground. anyway I needed to dispose pillars by myself. can not wait all summer and can not spent forever on phone.
This is only part of problem, along with these it comes few more extra, imagine the time I spent on phone, listening someone who promise that will call you later and never happened. It was very stressfull during this experience. absolutely cant recommend it. Thanks for the guy who was very nervous while he was repairing my radiator. Jonny the manager was also nice and kind but when I needed his help his respond was poor. If I could turn back time I would definitely choose different company or even stay on oil which is cheaper in my opinion.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The only thing worse than their actual gas service is their customer service. Every member of staff I have been in contact with recently have been nothing but downright rude. Using silly excuses and bare lies to cover their own backsides as to why they have left a young family with no heating for almost 1 week and still no intentions of fixing their mistake.

I got a new heating system installed by H&A. I did have problems for about 2 weeks after but I have to say every time I called and asked to get someone out to have a look, they arrived inside a couple of hours. The service from H&A was great and one guy in particular was amazing. He is a true gentleman. Oh just so you know the work H&A done from the start was flawless. The problem was with the heating boiler.
